Sour Cream Pound Cake

The holidays have been wonderful! Now the time has come to get back to reality, to work, and this means cleaning the fridge out of those holiday leftovers. A massive supply of sour cream made me think of an easy and tasty bread that disappears in minutes. It comes out moist and delicious with a perfect crust.

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease and flour a 8x4 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add sour cream and eggs.
  3. Add flour and pinch of soda, mix well. Pour into a loaf pan.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into center of cake comes out clean.
