- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 shallot, minced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- salt, pepper to taste
Combine the ingredients in a jar with a lid. Close the lid and shake until thoroughly combined.

Balsamic Vinegar Dressing
Japanese-style Dressing
With the recipe I've tried to replicate the dressing you get served with a salad in a typical Japanese restaurant.
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger root
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon white sugar
Easy Dressing for a Green Salad
This a modified recipe from Chatelaine. The dressing can be made ahead and stored in a container in a fridge till ready to serve.
- 1 shallot, minced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cups olive oil
Caesar Salad Dressing
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/3 cups olive oil
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1/2 cups Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 3 anchovy fillet crushed, or 1 teaspoon anchovy paste
- Push through the garlic press both anchovies and garlic. Add lemon juice, Dijon, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper. Whisk until mixed.
- Gradually whisk oil into mixture, whisk in mayo or egg.
- Add Parmesan. Then whisk it into the dressing.
